May Favorites!

 Hello Darlin’s!

I’m back with another monthly favorites. I am quite shit at uploading these for each month but lets see if I can stick to ’em! There is a really random assortment here but that is fitting for any MissEmilyMarie posting.

Benefit Cream Shadow in RSVP

This was a sample I received a while ago from Ulta. I always try the samples they give out because how else would you learn?! I fell in love with this color as soon as I tried it. I found that it stays all day (with a primer, at least) and it really is a gorgeous color. It is also super easy to blend which is something that is necessary for a cream shadow!

NYX The Curve Liner

This bad boy looks really strange. It is the best drugstore makeup that I have found, though. It is so precise and the color payoff is excellent. I would consider it right up there with Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner. The one problem that I sometimes have is that it gets on top of my eyelid. Anyone else have this? Other than this, the color and precision makes it worth the purchase!

Rimmel Matte Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in 104

I’m fairly certain I’m late to the party on this one, which I regret because this lipstick is fantastic. The color payoff is excellent and it is gorgeous. It lasts for so long, which is unusual (for me anyway). Also a random side note it smells amazing! I can’t pinpoint exactly what it smells like but it is delicious. Excellent color for any season!

Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray

I know that there has been buzz around this for a while but I never thought much of it. I decided to try it because it was in one of those cases right by the checkout line in Ulta. Oh those are the worst, they’re just traps aren’t they? I am really happy I picked this up though because it feels like your makeup is finished when you spray this on and it does seem to last longer.

Rimmel London 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 415 Instyle Coral

There seems to be mixed reviews of this nail polish on the internet. I don’t understand because every time I’ve used this brand it has worked very well. It stays longer than most and dries super fast, as it suggests! I love this coral color for spring/summer time and I would highly suggest this to anyone.

Avene Thermal Spring Water

I received this in my May Ipsy Bag+ and I fell in love with it as soon as I first used it. I have been looking for something like this so I was very happy I received it. It feels great against your skin when warm or really whenever you want to use it. It makes my skin feel refreshed and after a spritz in the face I find it easier to wake up in the morning!

Liebster Award~ A Little Bit More

Liebster: (German Origin) n. sweetheart, beloved person, darling

Hello! I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Nicole Bolt. I am so honored that she recognized me for this. It is a tag to learn a little bit more about me and to find new bloggers!

I really want to visit Greece.

  1. Any tattoos? Do you want any?

I have a tattoo of 3 stars on the top of my foot, and want many more. I wrote a blog post about it here.

My celebrity crush is Darren Criss.

  1. What is the one part of your makeup routine you spend the most time on?

The part of my makeup routine I spend the most time on is perfecting my eyeliner, quite the task.

Makeup (Am I allowed to throw my hair up?)

  1. What’s the one thing that makes you feel on top? (A red lip, heels, great jeans?)

Perfected winged eyeliner. I mean as close as I can get it, the struggle is real.

Finals Week // Hair, Makeup, and Outfit

Finals Week // Hair, Makeup, and Outfit

So it’s finals week, folks. If you are anything like me you have practically stopped caring all together. Here is my 4 step Finals Week look. (Note: you can do this in 5 minutes, sleep in!)

#1. Hair

Have you not showered in a while because you’ve been up late studying, or marathoning Lost on Netflix? Well, because you hair is unwashed it is perfect to put in a high messy bun. If you really want to you can put some dry shampoo in it, but all you have to do is gather all of your hair on the top of you head and put it in a ponytail holder once, and make it into a bun the second time through. The messier the better.

#2. Concealer

Lets be real you don’t want to put on a full face of foundation just for finals. Plus with late nights and lack of face washing it would be nice to let your skin breathe. Use your favorite concealer, mine is the Rimmel Match Perfection one, and cover up those dark under eye circles and any blemishes you’d like.

#3 Eyes

Here is the second makeup step that can totally be skipped. If you want to look more awake just put some of your most loved mascara on, I am currently loving the Benefit they’re real mascara. Tip, instead of putting it on both the bottom and top lashes just put it on the top. It will make your eyes look more open because you won’t have anything dragging down, same goes for eyeliner if you want to use that you hardcore makeup person you!

The best thing to do is put on your most loved comfy t-shirt to rock during finals. I am wearing my favorite tee from Topshop. The trick I use to staying awake to take my final is that I don’t wear sweatpants. I think wearing sweatpants is a state of mind that I try to avoid while trying to stay awake. Instead I wear jeans or jeggings but you can do what ever you would like!

What are your finals week tips and tricks?

Spring Hair!

Spring Hair!

So here is something I do not talk about usually… Hair! I have naturally wavy hair so I don’t do a lot with it. (I’m not saying I shouldn’t but I don’t make the time to, lord knows what it looks like on the days I have an 8 am) The product I am talking about I have found very recently and it is going to make my lazy life even better.

It is the Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray. I have fallen head over heels in love with this. Like the name suggests, it adds texture and waves to your hair. It is great for a messy beach look. How I have been using it is after I get out of the shower I will spray this all over my hair and then scrunch it with my hands. Then I will let it sit for a little bit (while I search for my hair tools..oops!) and dry my hair with a diffuser. It is the best and will be my summer look. If I have inspired you to try it send me your pics @missemily_marie !!

Here’s a rough idea of what my hair looks like after! (I didn’t take a good picture focused on my hair…fail)
