2017 Favorites!

2017 Favorites!

Hello all!

It’s my annual “I’m going to try blogging again” post. But this time it should stick, I’ve written a schedule for myself and have some content ideas already, so hang tight!

2017 was an interesting year for me. I started off in a job that I wasn’t a fan of but I loved the people I worked with. Then in March I took a new job that I absolutely detested. I only worked there until June and spent the summer unemployed. That meant I got to hang out with my mom a lot which was great because sadly she lost her best friend in February and they spent one day a week together in the summer.

Then in August I decided to take a leap of faith and move to Minneapolis. I was going to work in a hotel up there but then I applied for a job in my field, had an interview the week I moved up and was offered the job the same day. It has been an incredible job that I’m so grateful for. I’ve met awesome people and love the cities. I have no idea what 2018 has in store for me but I’m excited nonetheless.

All right, enough rambling. Let’s get to the makeup!

August Favorites!

August Favorites!

Another month is over! And this time it means school, for me at least. Although it is exciting because I will be starting my final year of college! Everyone then asks, then what, to which I practically just stare at them until we’re both concerned. My summer was so fricken hectic. My blog was definitely put on the back burner, but now I, weirdly, have my time! To which I will dedicate to my blog, netflix, and I suppose homework.

Anyways! I didn’t include a few of my favorites, instead those have already popped up (Tarte Undereye CC Concealer- bliss) or will pop up in future posts. From now on I’ll include a little * to indicate they woulda made this post but it would have been just too damn long. Plus, I like my rule of only having 5 products include. So, I’ll stop rambling and we can get into it!

The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur

Okay, this is a primer that I have not been able to find near me. I don’t know if it is specific to The Body Shop stores or if it’s not sold in the US? I bought it in Canada and I am obsessed. I absolutely love how this feels on my skin and how it makes my makeup look. I think that primers are the glue that makes your makeup hold together and this stuff is the best glue ever. Weird analogy, but true!

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in Streak

I’ve been eyeing this palette for maybe about a year. It was definitely on my makeup wishlist for a while. About a month and a half ago I bit the bullet and went for it! The blush is my favorite of the 3 but they’re all top notch. It just looks so pretty on. I’m also obsessed with the mirror, its great. On my vacation, I was on a train and decided to do my makeup and I used this little mirror and it worked perfectly!

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Intense Black

This is an oldie but a rediscovery of mine. So this summer I worked at a big retail store chain that starts with T. I literally was always so sweaty by the end of my shifts. I tried multiple (some high-end!) eyeliners and this held up! It was intact on my lids and looked fantastic. It didn’t budge and the color was still what it was in the morning. Seriously, if you need concrete eyeliner try this out.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara

I’ll admit I don’t have to high of standards for mascara. It is simply I like it or I don’t. I tried out this particular mascara and loved it! I like the color that it adds to my lashes. It lasts all day and upholds the sweat test, I half mentioned earlier. My lashes also held a curl when I used this mascara which makes me one happy beauty camper.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick- Kate Moss Collection in 104

This is another rediscovery in my own collection. Although it never really went away, I just haven’t mentioned it in a while. I adore Rimmel as a company and this color is gorgeous and so long lasting. I don’t entirely know how to describe it but it is perfect for everyday, any time. Gotta love lipsticks like that.

In an effort to save money and shop my stash I have started an 85 day no buy. It started August 30-November 23. Why does it end then? Well that’s my birthday! I have one exception, and thats that I can order the holiday Hourglass palette when it comes out- but otherwise- nada!

Care to join?

Okay first, should I keep including links? Does that help everyone out by providing easy access to find what I am talking about? I will try my best to link everything, though that is not a guarantee. Second, a new background for pictures, eh? Thats right. I’ve moved. Again. I am back at college and, strangely enough, back in a dorm. But its a dorm where you get your own room and everyone is 21 or older. So that’s pretty neat. I hope you enjoyed this chatty favorites. If you’re going back to school, best of luck. If you are or are not-

May Favorites!

May Favorites!

It’s that time of year again! Time to review my favorite products from the month before! Sadly, I never posted my April favorites, so I threw a few in this one and will individually review the other products later. Let’s go!

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue in Buttercream

Lets kick it off with this little gem. I bought this at the end of winter when my skin was the driest, I think, it’s ever been. This was a little miracle in a bottle. It looks best on me when my skin is relatively clear but the coverage can be built up. I love how it feels on the skin and the natural look of it. I use my fingers to apply it, but I was wondering if anyone tried the brush made for this? I’d be curious to know if it was worth the purchase.

L’Oreal La Palette Nude 1

I saw this at my beloved Target and decided I needed to try it. I adore it. People always rave about the Maybelline Nudes palette, but, personally, I do not like that one. This one however is so gorgeous. I love the colors and the pigmentation. I’d say this might be a semi dupe for the Stila Eyes Are The Window Soul Palette. If it is a nude eyeshadow palette, I’m bound to adore it.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

This little beauty made its way to me through an Ipsy bag. I’ve had many a mascara open as of late so I didn’t really give this a go until this month. I love it. I love how it makes my lashes look. The formula seems superb. I don’t know really what else to say for a mascara. I’d definitely recommend this one!

Lorac Front of the Line Pro in Black

Back in the days of all the Holiday sets that suck you in and take all of your money, this was in one of them. I tried it out then and wrote off because I didn’t like it and was loyal to my Kat Von D. But, on a whim, I recently dug this out and my lord do I love it. I love the color, it lasts all day, and it is easy for me to apply. I think in the last few months, I have gotten control of my eyeliner skills and new products aren’t as scary.

NYX Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler

I’ve had this for awhile and it is no secret that I adore these Butter Glosses. I wouldn’t be surprised at if some point in my life, I had one in every color. I think that this is the perfect shade for Spring/Summer. It is not to overwhelming and it just looks so God damn pretty on. This is a staple in my bag in the summer.

Another month gone! Man, how the hell is it already June? Personally, this year has not been the best but I’m hoping for a mid year turnaround! Keep you head up y’all!

March Favorites!

March Favorites!

1. Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Concealer in Light

I’m just going to jump right in, y’all get it. This is the concealer! I’ve actually never tried a high end concealer aside from Bare Minerals, but I adore this. The packaging is super cute and the stuff inside is even better. It is super easy to blend and a perfect shade match. I didn’t realize that it was waterproof, but that’s a cool little plus.

2. Anastasia Brow Wiz in Granite

This is finally back in my life! Aw man, has it been awhile. I bought a NYX one, that I didn’t love, but wanted to use up cause money. But I will never part from this again! What a freaking holy grail product. I think my brows just look the best with this. I like how small it is and my brows and I would like to thank Anastasia for existing. For real, don’t leave this beauty behind. Plus, the little spoolie that’s attached is the bomb.

3. Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipstick in Berry

I think mot of us have probably seen Carrie Underwood talking about these on our tvs. I really didn’t know much about this but it caught my eye in Ulta. Plus I got a deal with it. I realllllly like it. I love buttery lipsticks like this, they’re my new obsession. I’ve also realized that I really like Berry colors, and lo and behold, this products name is berry. There are a number of colors and once I’m off my no-buy, I will check more of these out!

4. LoracPRO to Go

Oh Me, Oh My! Look at this gorgeous thing! I bought this during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty and along with a few rewards points, ended up scoring this for 20 dollars! That is a deal. I am completely obsessed with this thing. It is obviously perfect for travel because it includes so much, just need a base. My favorite from this, though, is the coral blush. Holy shit, it is so pretty. It is my new go to blush and perfect for spring/summer.

5. Real Techniques Bold Metals 201 Pointed Crease Brush

Ooo another real techniques brush! I adore these brushes, they’re so affordable and the best quality. This is the only one that I have from their new line, but I want to check out more. I actually use this for what they recommend! Who woulda thunk. I’ve been on the search for a crease brush and saw this beauty. It is so, so soft and so fricken pretty. Plus, it is fantastic at doing its job. But for real, how fun is this to look at? My gosh.

Wellllll, I hope you all enjoyed a quite weird monthly favorites. I loveee these and I loveee adding unnecessary letters to words, I think it really helps express how I feel. My goodness, this has been a time. Plus, I’m writing on my computer, which I haven’t for awhile. Makes me want to type more words because it is so easy. Well, this took a turn. In all seriousness, I hope you enjoyed! Link me to your monthly favorites, I would love to see them! Pleaseeeee.

2014 Favorites!

2014 Favorites!

It is the end of the year once again and how crazy is that. I’m not going to lie, 2014 was definitely not my favorite year. I am starting off 2015 with more positivity and higher hopes. On a better note, the makeup of 2014 was incredible. I really started to like it and saw it as an art form. It made me be able to express myself in entirely new way. Here are my top 14 favorites of 2014!

1-4 // Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer in Light, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent, Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation in Neutral, & Benefit Porefessional

5-8 // The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion, Urban Decay DeSlick Setting Spray, Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep, Milani Baked Blush in Rose D’oro

9-11 // Too Faced Shadow Insurance in Champagne, Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

12-14 // NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu, Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in Afternoon Tea, Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 104

There we have it! These are the things that I absolutely fell in love with in 2014. If you’d like a further description of why I love these things or some reviews, please let me know as I’d be happy to! I usually add some thoughts to my favorites but I thought that would get quite lengthy. Also, let me know your favorite things of 2014, whether that’s makeup or other things!

October Favorites!

October Favorites!

Hello Lovelies!

November is finally upon us! It is my favorite month, though I may be biased because it is my birthday on the 23rd, turnin’ 21 y’all! I also love building up the anticipation for Christmas, I think I may like the anticipation more than the actual event, but that’s just me! The first snowfall always makes me happy and I always long for a White Christmas, but after that it can melt! Never does though, damn Wisconsin. BUT lets dive into the things that I’ve obsessed over last month!

The Body Shop Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator

As you can all probably tell, I’ve gone a little nuts over the Body Shop recently, whoops! I think that is because I have yet to try a product that I don’t really like. I’m awful when it comes to skin care, and even more awful when it comes to exfoliating. But I love how this makes my skin feel (it is so soft!) and how it makes my skin look.

L’oreal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup in Nude Beige

Upon trying this product, I realized that I have never actually tried anything from L’oreal before. But I absolutely love this foundation. It has such a great build able coverage but also your skin still feels and looks like skin, which is what I, personally, want in a foundation. The other great thing about this is that there are so many options.

Paul Mitchell Express Style Fast Form

I don’t talk about hair much on here but that is because I’m still trying to figure it out, good lord do I struggle. But I also have really thick hair that takes literally all day to dry. The last time I want to get a haircut, the hairdresser recommended this to me and it is worth it. Basically what it does is make your hair dry faster which is a miracle product, in my eyes.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Limitless

When I first got the Tarte collectors set I knew I’d fall in love, and that I did. I immediately blogged about it: see here. My next two favorites come from it. I think that this blush is perfect for fall/winter because it has this peachy rose shade that looks like you’ve just been kissed by the cold. You hardly need to touch your brush to the plus because it has that much pigment, totally worth it!

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose Tarte Marcuja Lipgloss in Nice

I don’t know about you, but once there is the slightest gust of cold air my lips immediately get dry and start to crack. I love many lip balms but this ha sheen my favorite of October. It provides so much moisture, with a really nice color tint. I like a little bit of a lip gloss look and have found that the two of these go together wonderfully.

I hope you are having a great start to November, and if not remember that you can always turn it around! You are in control and you 110% got this! Thanks lovely people of the internet!

Benefit ‘Hello Flawless’ in “I’m Cute as a Bunny” Honey

IMG_0703 2

I got this as a sample a few months ago and I knew instantly that I was going to purchase the full size product. I like how it gives you a finishing look and I don’t think it feels to heavy on. It is the perfect powder cover-up.

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer in Light

I picked this up out of the blue and since then I have just adored it. I don’t know how it works but I do know if works wonders on my face. I typically put it under my eyes, and my dark circles haven’t peeked through with this product battling it!

Maybelline Color Sensational in Pink Satin & Almay Color + Care in Nudetrients

I’m all about that mixing and matching life. If I think two products could potentially work together I will try it out. The Pink Satin lip stick is abseloutley gorgeous on its own but I like adding the Nudetrients liquid lip balm for a little bit of shine and I personally love how it feels!

ORLY Bonder

This is a rubberized base coat and oh my does it do wonders! Basically all you do is put it on before your color and viola! Your nail polish will last longer. I mean it is not perfect but if definitely helps and makes me one happy camper!
